Build Quality — Materials, Machining, and Fit

Reximex designed the Myth to combine durability with precise ergonomics. Manufacturers often balance cost and performance; Reximex prioritizes tolerances and materials that translate into long-term reliability.

Chassis and Receiver

The main chassis uses high-grade anodized aluminum. This choice reduces weight while maintaining structural integrity under repeated use. CNC machining produces consistent alignment between the barrel and breech, which reduces harmonics and improves grouping.

  • Aluminum chassis: lightweight yet rigid for stable shot-to-shot performance.

  • Reinforced bedding surfaces: minimize movement between the barrel and receiver during firing cycles.

  • Corrosion-resistant finishes: protect against moisture and wear, particularly for outdoor shooters.

Barrel System

A rifle’s barrel determines much of its accuracy potential. The Reximex Myth ships with a match-grade, button-rifled barrel designed to stabilize pellets consistently.

  • Match-grade rifling: promotes repeatable pellet spin and tighter groups.

  • Integrated moderator/suppressor options: reduce report without sacrificing velocity.

  • Swappable barrel inserts (where available): allow fine-tuning for pellet types and calibers.

Stock and Ergonomics

Comfort drives extended accuracy. Therefore, Reximex engineered the Myth’s stock for adjustability and comfort across body types.

  • Adjustable cheekpiece and length-of-pull: straightforward tools-free adjustments let shooters tailor fit quickly.

  • Modular grip panels: provide positive purchase whether your hands prefer a vertical or semi-vertical orientation.

  • Recoil pad and balance points: reduce perceived recoil and improve follow-up shot speed.

Internal Mechanisms — How the Reximex Myth Delivers Performance

Understanding the internal workings helps buyers trust their purchase. The following breakdown explains core systems in plain language while highlighting performance advantages.

Pre-Charged Pneumatic (PCP) System

Reximex uses a precision-tested PCP cylinder that feeds air to the valve under controlled pressure. The system ensures that each shot receives consistent air volume and pressure, which directly affects velocity uniformity and shot-to-shot variability.

  • Balanced air delivery: calibrated regulator delivers consistent pressure to the valve.

  • Durable seals and O-rings: selected materials resist wear and temperature variation.

  • Accessible refill valve: designed for quick connection to hand pumps or scuba/FCI systems.

Reximex Myth Regulator and Valve Assembly

A regulated PCP rifle separates the storage pressure from the firing pressure. In the Myth, the regulator stabilizes firing pressure so pellet speed remains consistent across a wide fill range.snow peak pp750

  • Factory-set regulation with user-adjustable tuning (where legal): gives shooters control over power and efficiency.

  • Hardened valve components: reduce seat wear and extend maintenance intervals.

  • Maintenance-friendly layout: technicians and advanced users can service subsystems without disassembling the entire rifle.

Reximex Myth Trigger Group

The trigger assembly on the Reximex Myth focuses on crisp break and repeatability. A two-stage design provides both safety and precision.

  • First-stage take-up: light and predictable, letting shooters prepare micro-adjustments.

  • Second-stage break: clean, with low creep if adjusted correctly.

  • Safety features: a manual safety and firing-pin block reduce accidental discharge risks.

Cocking and Loading Mechanisms

Whether the model uses side-lever cocking or underlever options, Reximex ensures smooth, low-effort cocking action.snow peak pp750

  • Low-friction cocking interfaces: benefit shooters across repeated sessions.

  • Optional magazine systems: reduce reloading time while maintaining sealing integrity.

  • Positive breech lock: secures pellets for consistent alignment and combustion (air transfer) efficiency.

Performance Characteristics — What Shooters Actually Experience

People often ask: What does this feel like on the range? The Reximex Myth delivers measurable traits that translate into shooter confidence.

  • Consistent Grouping: Tight shot clusters become the norm after proper zeroing and pellet selection.

  • Predictable Recoil: Minimal impulse lets shooters keep sights aligned for follow-ups.

  • Silenced Comfort: Moderation of noise increases stealth for hunting and comfort for backyard practice.

  • Efficiency: The regulated system maximizes usable shots per fill, which benefits extended sessions and fieldwork.

Maintenance & Longevity — Practical Notes

Caring for the Myth remains straightforward. Regular inspection and simple routine maintenance keep performance optimal for years.

  • Regularly inspect seals and O-rings; replace if you notice leaks or loss of power.

  • Store with the cylinder depressurized per local safety guidance.

  • Clean the barrel with a dedicated pellet-safe brush and avoid lead-removal solvents incompatible with synthetic finishes.

  • Schedule professional servicing for valve or regulator work if you notice performance drift.

Comparative Insights — How the Reximex Myth Stacks Up

Many rifles occupy the premium PCP market. Here’s how the Reximex Myth differentiates itself in practical terms.

  1. Value-to-Feature Ratio: While some competitors require costly add-ons to match the Myth’s standard features (regulator, adjustable stock, integrated gauge), this model includes many upgrades off-the-shelf. That reduces the need for immediate aftermarket spending.

  2. User-Friendly Adjustability: Some rival rifles lock critical adjustments behind tools. Reximex designed tool-free or simple-tool adjustments for cheekpiece, LOP, and trigger—making personalization faster and safer for new shooters.

  3. Serviceability: Other manufacturers bury components under complicated assemblies. By contrast, the Myth’s layout allows trained technicians to access valve and regulator subsystems with fewer disassemblies, reducing service times and costs.

  4. Noise and Vibration Control: Integrated moderator technology and harmonics-reducing bedding work together to deliver a quieter, stabler shooting experience than many peer models of similar size and power.raw micro hunter

Zeroing, Pellet Recommendations, and Setup Configurations

Tools & Prep — What to have on your bench

Before you start, gather simple gear that speeds progress and improves repeatability:

  • Quality optic (scope) with appropriate mounts.

  • Stable rest (sandbags, front rest, rear bag).

  • Bipod or stable shooting bench for field setups.

  • Pellet tin with clearly labeled types.

  • Pellet sizer (optional) and pellet tray.

  • Chronograph (highly recommended for tuning).

  • Fill station (hand pump, scuba tank, or PCP compressor) and pressure gauge.

  • Allen keys and basic tool kit.

  • Targets (10 m to 50 m) and a marker to record point-of-impact (POI).

Once everything lies within reach, keep a notepad or phone for logging settings and results. Recording each change dramatically reduces guesswork later.

Pellet Recommendations — Choose the right pellet type (by purpose)

Selecting the correct pellet matters more than many shooters expect. Pellet shape, weight, and manufacturing tolerances influence grouping, trajectory, and terminal performance.

For precision target shooting

  • Prefer lightweight, consistent pellets with a symmetric skirt.

  • Wadcutters and lightweight domes often deliver flatter trajectories at typical indoor ranges.

  • Choose pellets that feed smoothly through your magazine or single-shot tray.

For general plinking / backyard shooting

  • Balanced mid-weight pellets offer economical performance and decent accuracy.

  • Pellets with consistent skirts and modest head tolerances reduce flyers at casual distances.

For hunting and field work

  • Use heavier, well-formed domed or pointed pellets to maintain energy on target.

  • Heavier projectiles resist wind better and expand or penetrate more reliably.

  • Avoid extremely light pellets if you operate at higher power settings; they can cause instability or keyholing.

Importantly, test three pellet types from the same lot before deciding on your primary choice. Pellet variability between tins often explains inconsistent groups more than rifle problems do.walther cp88 competition

Basic Zeroing — Quick method for a reliable initial zero (10 m to 25 m)

This standardized process gets your Reximex Myth sighted in quickly and repeatably.

Step 1 — Setup and safety

  1. Place the rifle in a solid rest and secure the optic.

  2. Fill the air cylinder to the recommended pressure and check the integrated gauge.

  3. Ensure the action is safe and the muzzle points downrange.

Step 2 — Bore/sight alignment

  1. If your scope or sights offer a bore-sighting option, use it first to get on paper.

  2. Otherwise fire a three-shot group at 10 m to establish initial POI.

Step 3 — Grouping and adjustment

  1. Fire a consistent three- to five-shot group, aiming for the center of the target.

  2. Measure the group’s center and translate adjustment values using your scope’s MOA/MRAD clicks.

  3. Adjust windage and elevation, then fire another confirmation group.

  4. Repeat until the average POI sits within acceptable tolerance for your intended distance.

Step 4 — Move to preferred zero distance

  1. For target shooters, confirm zero at competition distance (e.g., 25 m).

  2. For hunters, confirm at field distances (e.g., 35–50 m) and note holdover values.

  3. Use the chronograph to log velocity at your working fill pressure to predict trajectory.

Keep changes small between adjustments and always re-fire at least three rounds to confirm.air arm sports

Advanced Zeroing — Tactical zeroing and trajectory mapping (25 m to 50 m)

When you need more precision at longer distances, follow these expanded steps.

Step 1 — Establish a chrono baseline

  • Measure average pellet velocity at your typical fill pressure.

  • Record five to ten shots to understand spread (standard deviation).

Step 2 — Ballistic observables

  • Using field data, create a simple holdover table: distance → inches/cm drop.

  • Note wind drift at preset crosswind speeds; heavier pellets usually show less drift.

Step 3 — Fine tuning the regulator (if adjustable)

  • Slightly lower or raise regulated pressure to see how POI and velocity change.

  • Observe whether group size improves at different regulator settings; some rifles group best at a specific working pressure.

Step 4 — Final confirmation

  • Confirm zero at ambient temperatures similar to your typical shooting conditions.

  • Remember that extreme cold or heat can slightly shift velocity and POI.

Log every change: pellet type, fill pressure, regulator setting, scope clicks, and resulting POI. That log becomes your most valuable resource.
