    The Rotex RM8 Varmint UC is a spirited, dynamic version of the classic compressed air rifle. The extra pep in this ultra-compact model was achieved by shortening the Lothar Walther barrel of the original Varmint by a full 160 mm. With a length of 340 mm, the barrel still ensures tight groupings at great distances, and the center of gravity is now much closer to the middle. Shooters benefit from better agility and faster shooting, thanks also to the reduced weight of 3,750 g.

     

    The ruggedness and agility of the original Varmint are also embodied in the stock and receiver. The proven 230-bar compressed air cylinder reliably propels the 8 pellets in the rotary magazine through the ½″ UNF thread and the supplied compensator to their target. The first-stage trigger travel is adjustable. The tough polymer body withstands the most punishing use, and the Hi-Grip surfaces and thumbhole stock sit well in the hand.

    The Gauntlet is a compressed air rifle that is certainly not inferior in power or quality for its price range!
    This latest version of the Gauntlet 2 comes with a number of interesting upgrades.

     

    Side Lever

    The SL stands for Side lever. This replaces the previous “bolt action” system of the Gauntlet 2.
    This is a great upgrade over the old system as it is significantly smoother and easier to use.
    Pull the lever back, push it forward again and you’re ready for your next shot.

     

    Dirty Thirty

    The Gauntlet 2 SL 30 is certainly not inferior in power.
    This rifle has a power of no less than 135 joules in its large caliber of 7.62mm (.30″)!

    The rifle has a built-in regulator with a pressure of 193 bar and a maximum filling pressure of 300/310 bar.
    As long as the air supply is higher in pressure than the regulator pressure, the power for every shot is exactly the same, resulting in high accuracy!

    This one definitely packs a punch, but with a loud bang! Fortunately, the Gauntlet 2 SL is now also equipped with a thread for a silencer!

     

    The Gauntlet 2 SL30 in practise

    With a weight of 3.1kg and a total length of 120cm, the Gauntlet 2 SL has average agility for a rifle of its type.

    Shooting and loading goes smoothly thanks to the side lever and 2 supplied magazines (7 shots).
    The Gauntlet also comes with a single shot tray for manually loading single shots or longer ammunition than the magazines allow.

    Filling the Gauntlet 2 SL is easy. This is done via a foster coupling on the side of the rifle.
    Please note that the female foster connection is not included. This can be bought separately if you don’t have this on your fill source: Foster Female connector.
    Due to the high filling pressure and volume of 400cc, a hand pump is not recommended and is recommended with a bottle or compressor.

    Thanks to the M-LOK slots on the side and bottom of the butt, the rifle is easily expandable with accessories such as lamps, laser or bipods.

    On top of the Gauntlet there are 22mm picatinny rails for mounting a suitable rifle scope.

    A Compact PCP That Punches Above Its Weight — Built on a Platform We Already Trust

    Let’s get this straight — we’ve always had a soft spot for the PP700 and PP750. Luke’s personal PP700 groups at 50m like it’s nobody’s business. And now, with the NOTOS, UMAREX has taken the multishot PP750 platform and given it a very welcome tactical makeover. That’s good news for anyone looking for a lightweight, affordable carbine that delivers surprisingly serious performance.

     

    We first saw this at IWA 2025, and our initial impressions were cautiously optimistic. UMAREX claimed it was a rapid-fire PCP carbine for plinking, sports, and even semi-serious target work — and they weren’t too far off the mark.

     

    Wait… Isn’t This Just a PP750?

    More or less. But it’s been reworked for a Western audience with some smart upgrades:

    • AR Buffer Tube-Style Stock – No more sliding rods. Multi-position, quick-adjust, folds down for transport.
    • Picatinny Top Rail – Welcome to the future. This one’s got a mag cut-out too, for better usability.
    • Biathlon-Style Paddle Side Lever – UMAREX says “straight-pull”. Let’s not get too technical — it’s fast and it works.
    • Regulated Action – As with the PP750, consistency is the name of the game. Helps stretch the usable shot count.
    • Fixed Shrouded Silencer – Sadly not threaded, but likely added to ensure the rifle meets legal length classifications in certain markets.

     

    So yes — it’s familiar, but it’s been tidied up, refined, and now comes out of the box as a more complete package.

     

    Why We Think It’s Worth It:

    Look — is it built like a £1,000 rifle? No. But is it based on a platform we already know performs? Yes. The PP750 and PP700 have a bit of a cult following for a reason — they’re accurate, mod-friendly, and just a lot of fun. The NOTOS carries that same DNA, and now with 16 Joules of power (UK full spec), it’s more versatile than ever.

     

    Whether you’re backyard plinking, tackling rats in the shed, or stretching out for 50m target work, the NOTOS is up for it.

    The Veyron is made of T6 aluminium alloy and the lenses are fully multi-coated to filter the incoming light and prevent glare.
    The 30 mm tube is provided with a nitrogen filling that prevents the penetration of moisture and condensation.

     

    SFP MPR-V10 IR Richtkruis

    This version of the Veyron has a detailed MPR-V10 reticle with MRAD markings for measuring and calculating corrections.
    This etched reticle is placed on the second focal plane (SFP). This means that the reticle does not magnify along with an image.
    However, the markings on the reticle have correct proportions at 10x.

    This has the advantage that the reticle is always equally thick and clearly visible, even at lower magnifications.
    Because of this, the reticle is perfectly suited with QD night vision optics.

    For better contrast, the reticle can also be illuminated red with 6 different brightness settings.

     

    External Turrets

    The external turrets have a smooth but distinct click and go in 0.1MRAD steps (0.5cm at 50m, 1cm at 100m, etc.) with a maximum adjustment range of 17.5MRAD in elevation and windage.
    These turrets are easy to lock and unlock by pushing or pulling them.
    On the left side is the parallax adjustment. This allows the Veyron to focus at different distances, estimate rough distances and correct the parallax effect.

    As a nice cherry on top, the Veyron also comes with a set of 22mm picatinny mounts, a nice killflash and a set of flip-up covers.

    The Vortex Razor HD Gen III FFP Riflescope with EBR-7D MRAD reticle is optimized to provide a crisp sight picture and an ideal field of view across its magnification range for long distance shooting. This scope uses a 56mm objective lens and innovative features to offer sharp views and surprising color fidelity even in low light or poor weather.

    The turrets on this scope are exposed locking turrets which help avoid inadvertent adjustments, they have tactile and audible clicks to simplify adjustments, and they also feature the L-Tec Zero System with a micro-adjust zero setting for an easy way to return to zero. In addition, the elevation turret offers an external rotation indicator that extends further from the turret body on each rotation, helping with both a visual and a tactile indication of the turret’s position.
