The AirForce Texan with carbon fiber tank gives you a lighter air rifle featuring upgraded TX2 valve technology that also boosts the power. The new version includes a 475cc carbon fiber air bottle, and weighs in at only 6.12 lbs., which is around 20 percent lighter than the standard version of the Texan, but with muzzle energy of up to 754 fpe in .457 and 800 fpe in .50.
The tank now fills to a max pressure of 3600 psi (250 bar) instead of 3000 psi (200 bar) for the previous model, giving you more power with a rifle that’s the same size. New AirForce Texan LSS. With its 34″ barrel, it can hurl .45-caliber ammo as fast as 1,000 FPS at muzzle energies of up to 600 foot-pounds, AirForce reports. And, it can do it much quieter than its older, unmoderated sibling. Before this, AirForce Airguns shooters desiring the same big-bore bite as the Texan with significantly less bark often looked to the Texan SS and its Sound-Loc System technology. But, that option comes with lower velocities and muzzle energies that go along with an almost 10-inch shorter barrel.
