The Element Optics HELIX is a high quality optic designed for the serious shooter.
Developed in cooperation with a diverse range of shooters, Element Optics has combined their experience is a sturdy, high-tech optic.
Thanks to the wear-resistant stainless-steel internals, the HELIX can offer the precise and consistent adjustments.
2-16x
This variant of the Element Helix offers 2-16x adjustable magnification.
Due to this lower minimum magnification, this rifle scope can offer a wide viewing angle. Also, it is significantly easier to get on target quickly with lower magnification.
As soon as more precision is needed, the scope can zoom in quickly thanks to the included throw lever.
SFP
The reticle is placed on the second focal plane. This means, unlike FFP, that it does not zoom in with the scope’s image.
The advantage of this is that the reticle always has the same thickness. This is often a desirable trait for hunters.
The APR-1C reticle is equipped with correction markings and has correct mil distances at 16x magnification.
APR-2D
The APR-1C MRAD cross is etched in glass and is easily adjustable (height: 29 MRAD – width: 13 MRAD).
This reticle can be illuminated in 6 positions.
What makes the HDLR unique is the design of the turrets.
Like the other Element scopes, the elevation turret has a built-in Zero-stop that gives the shooter the convenience of quickly turning it back to the zero point.
The windage turret is shielded with a cap so that it cannot be accidentally moved during operations or when walking through brush.
However, this cap can be replaced by the supplied thread protector so that it can be used as a normal external turret.
Adjustable Parallax
The parallax is adjustable via a side-knob from 10 to 300 meter and infinite.
Quality control
The quality control from Element Optics assures accurate margins up to 1000 yards.
Warranty
Element Optics offers life-long Platinum Warranty

Precision Ballistics and MRAD Reticle Mastery
Long-range shooting is not just about aiming; it demands an understanding of ballistics, holdover, and environmental factors. The Helix HDLR 2-16×50 SFP MRAD equips shooters with precise tools to calculate and execute accurate shots across varying distances. Its MRAD reticle offers intuitive reference points, allowing shooters to make real-time corrections with confidence.
Understanding MRAD and Its Advantages
MRAD, or milliradian, is a unit of angular measurement widely used in precision shooting. One MRAD equals 3.6 inches at 100 yards, providing a consistent metric for adjusting elevation and windage. The SFP (Second Focal Plane) design of the Helix HDLR ensures the reticle remains true at a set magnification, making it easier to measure targets and calculate holdovers accurately.
-
Simple, repeatable measurements for every shot
-
Quick adjustments without mental calculations
-
Universal compatibility with ballistic calculators and apps
By mastering MRAD subtensions, shooters can precisely determine bullet drop, compensate for wind drift, and engage targets at varying distances with confidence.

Calculating Holdovers and Windage
One of the most critical aspects of long-range shooting is understanding how bullet trajectory interacts with gravity and wind. The Helix HDLR’s MRAD reticle allows shooters to apply holdover corrections instantly.
-
Elevation (Vertical Adjustment):
-
Use the MRAD increments to compensate for bullet drop.
-
At 500 yards, for instance, a 6.5mm round may drop 12 MRADs; the reticle provides immediate reference points.
-
-
Windage (Horizontal Adjustment):
-
MRAD subtensions facilitate adjustments for wind drift.
-
A 10 mph crosswind at 600 yards can be corrected using the MRAD marks without dialing turrets repeatedly.
-
-
Moving Targets and Advanced Corrections:
-
Predictive holds can be executed quickly using MRAD measurements.
-
Even in dynamic conditions, shooters maintain high hit probability.
-
By combining these corrections, the Helix HDLR empowers shooters to engage targets accurately, whether in tactical scenarios, competition, or long-range hunting.
Practical Scenarios for Long-Range Accuracy
Understanding theoretical calculations is essential, but applying them in real-world scenarios demonstrates the true value of the Helix HDLR.
Scenario 1: Precision Hunting
Imagine stalking game at 400 yards in low-light conditions. The 50mm objective lens enhances visibility, while the MRAD reticle allows for instant holdover adjustment. Shooters can account for wind and elevation without losing focus on the target, ensuring humane and ethical shots.
Scenario 2: Competitive Long-Range Shooting
In a 1,000-yard competition, every click matters. The Helix HDLR’s tactile turrets and clear MRAD reference points allow competitors to make fast, repeatable adjustments. With the SFP reticle, calculations remain consistent at a chosen magnification, minimizing errors that could cost points.
Scenario 3: Tactical Engagements
For tactical operators, rapid target acquisition is critical. The variable magnification range from 2x to 16x allows swift transitions from close-quarters to distant threats. The MRAD reticle provides accurate references for engagement without overcomplicating adjustments.
